Humpback Whales in Colombia

Colombia has long been a popular tourist destination, with enough variety and natural beauty to please anyone.

Recently, it has also become a top-rated destination for couples, groups of friends, and families looking for adventure vacations.

The country has a long, vibrant culture, warm, beautiful climate, and extraordinary history. It’s also a fantastic place to swim with thousands of lovely, exotic, and intriguing marine species.

Humpback Whales in Colombia

Humpback whales in Colombia can be spotted as early as June every year. They migrate annually from polar regions to the tropical waters of the Colombian Pacific Ocean to breed and give birth. The calves feed on milk rich in fat and proteins for eight months before swimming back to the poles.

This type of whale, also known as Ballenas Yubarta in Colombia, is found in all the world’s oceans but is particularly abundant in coastal areas of Colombia’s Pacific coast. They migrate every year, and August and September, are the best time to spot them.

This September 2022, our second bi-annual Pacific Trip is to see the Humpback Whales in Colombia.

Join us in this adventure to Colombia’s Pacific Ocean and discover it before it gets crowded.

Bahia Solano is a great destination waiting for you on this fantastic adventure. It will be an unforgettable trip filled with new friends, new experiences, and many water activities.

The water is cool and refreshing; perfect for snorkeling, freediving, paddleboarding, fishing, etc.! While cruising through reefs, you’ll swim among Humpback Whales, dolphins, whale sharks, tunas, tropical fish, turtles, and stingrays. We will also walk to the Nabuga waterfall, crossing the local indigenous community of Emberá Katios in the Nabugá Bay.

There is so much to see when visiting these pristine locations!
